Contact us
Let’s talk worktops.
They’re the unsung heroes of your kitchen. They take a beating from hot pans, sharp knives, spills, and the occasional elbow when you’re kneading dough.
But they’re also the face of your kitchen. A shiny new worktop can make your whole kitchen look brand spanking new.
Why Replace Your Worktop?
Maybe your current worktop looks like it’s been through a war. Or perhaps you’re just tired of looking at the same old surface day in, day out.
Whatever your reason, replacing your worktop can:
- Give your kitchen an instant facelift
- Make cleaning a breeze (goodbye, stained grout!)
- Add value to your home
- Give you a chance to rethink your kitchen layout
Types of Worktops We Install
In Peterborough, we’ve installed pretty much every type of worktop out there. Here’s a quick rundown:
Laminate – Budget-friendly and comes in tons of designs. Modern laminates are tough cookies too.
Solid Wood – Warm, natural look. Needs a bit of TLC but ages beautifully.
Granite – The classic choice. Tough as nails and looks a million quid.
Quartz – Man-made, so you get consistent patterns. Non-porous, so it’s great for hygiene.
Composite – The best of both worlds. Looks natural but is easy to maintain.
Stainless Steel – For that professional chef look. Hygienic and heat-resistant.
Real Talk About Worktop Replacement
Now, I’ll let you in on a secret. Sometimes, replacing your worktop isn’t just about the worktop.
Take Mrs. Patel from Woodston. She called us to replace her laminate worktop with granite. But when we took out the old worktop, we found her sink was on its last legs.
We ended up replacing the sink and taps too. Now her kitchen not only looks great but works better too.
That’s why we always do a proper check before we start. We’ll let you know if we spot any potential issues. No surprises, no hidden costs.
How We Replace Worktops
First things first, we’ll come and measure up. And when I say measure, I mean measure precisely. A millimetre out can throw the whole thing off.
We’ll help you choose the right worktop for your needs. Like cooking up a storm? You might want something heat-resistant. Got kids? Maybe a tough, easy-clean surface is best.
On installation day, we’ll remove your old worktop carefully. We’ll check the units underneath are level and sturdy. If they’re not, we’ll sort that out.
Then we’ll fit your new worktop. We’ll make sure all the joins are perfect, the edges are finished nicely, and everything’s sealed properly.
We’ll also refit your sink and hob. If you’re having new ones, even better – we can install those too.
A Word About Disruption
Replacing a worktop can be a bit disruptive. You’ll be without a working kitchen for a day or two.
But we’ll work as quickly and efficiently as we can. We’ll protect your floors and keep the dust to a minimum.
And trust me, when you see your new worktop in place, you’ll think it was worth it.
The Worktop Wisdom of Peterborough
Over the years, we’ve picked up a few bits of worktop wisdom from our Peterborough customers.
Like Mr. Johnson from Orton Longueville. He chose a dark granite worktop to hide the crumbs from his morning toast. Smart man.
Or Mrs. Thompson from Werrington. She went for a wooden worktop but asked us to install a heat-resistant section next to the hob. Best of both worlds.
